Restaurant Opatija in Nuremberg

Unfortunately, I'm only now coming to the assessment. We went here in August and ate outside in the square. The food was very good and the service very cool. In my mid-40s, being addressed by the service (mature gentleman) as "you guys have already chosen" went down like a charm. The food was already fine cuisine. We liked it. Amusingly, we were actually in Opatija a month later. A health resort in Croatia with Austrian flair.

The evening at Opatja was nice. The place is pretty, the food delicious - there was light and shadow. But what is still worth 5 stars for me: The next day I wrote my feedback by email - and only 2 minutes later I received a call from Mr. Kandel personally. "Thank you for your feedback" - good conversation. This passionate host really deserves 5 stars for this.

Very good food and the service was great

Price / performance ratio is not right here at all. Little choice and the food is mediocre. And € 9 for a glass of Lugana is a rip-off (no wine list available in which the prices could be viewed). The next room bare and uncomfortable, furnished with "waiting room" chairs.

Excellent excellent food, especially the main course Franconian Angus Medium stood out and was fried to the point! The dessert was also the highlight (lemon sorbet on Silvanersekt) Comeback factor! Thanks for the great evening I celebrated my birthday there!

Good day. Service good, is it a disaster?

The Opatija restaurant is located in Nuremberg's old town and offers very good Yugoslav cuisine. The dishes are very fresh and excellently prepared, the daily menu also includes special fish dishes. The service staff is friendly and courteous. When visiting Nuremberg, I can recommend a visit to the restaurant.

Thanks to the takeover by Max Kandel ("Fährhaus" Sylt, "stairs" Nuremberg), Opatija has gained even more ... It used to be very good, now one of the top stores in town ...

A real "bank" in Nuremberg's gastronomic scene for decades. Since the takeover by Max Kandel about a year ago, the quality has even increased in my opinion. Very friendly and helpful staff, a varied and fresh menu that is adapted to the respective season. In addition, a first-class selection of wines, what more do you need to be happy? Price-performance ratio is okay, absolutely recommendable.

Sendational! Reserved a table here spontaneously. The food was top quality and top notch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our 8 year old daughter was also treated very kindly. We would love to come back!

Opatija - in the heart of Nuremberg Picturesquely located in Nuremberg's old town, this restaurant is a top address, almost a must, for connoisseurs of all flavors. The menu is not too overloaded, yet pure variety with a mix of meat, fish, vegetarian and desserts. You can see that fresh and seasonal cooking is done here while you are still sitting down. The menu does not come to the table as a bound edition, but of course, as it should be for a quality restaurant, on a beautiful written chalk board. Our meal consisted of a wonderful tomato soup with scallops, wonderfully tender and perfectly fried Franconian Angus fillet with porcini mushrooms and our highlight of the day, the really more than perfectly fried turbot. (I think the pictures speak for themselves here) We chose the fish as a recommendation from our waiter Jens, whom we want to praise again in the highest tones - an incredibly friendly soul - whether wine, main course, dessert - he understood everything perfectly explain and took time for us as guests - our greatest respect. (His constant smile could even be seen through the mask - great importance is attached to compliance with the Corona guidelines) A little side story - Max Kandel, former head chef of the "Restaurant Staircase" in Nuremberg, is now pulling the strings in Opatija. We had the honor of meeting Max years ago as the head chef in the stairs. We are still so enthusiastic about his extraordinary creations that we drive from Mainz to Nuremberg at least once a year to enjoy his dishes. When we found out about his change it was of course natural that we would change the location with Max - and the visit proved us right - and I can personally recommend everyone to do the same.

I thought the food was delicious. I had the fillet she had seafood. With wine beer and an appetizer it was 50-60 euros. Pretty normal prices.

The location at Unschlittplatz, a bit away from the hustle and bustle and with traffic-calmed conditions, is simply mega romantic, plus the candlelight on the tables outside, simply beautiful. We were also lucky and a saxophonist is playing next to it. It couldn't be more perfect. Food and wine very good, service attentive and friendly. We will be back!

It totally blew us away. Good cost-performance ratio. This restaurant really has the potential to be my next local hangout. The waiters are always very hardworking and always courteous! My husband and I find the restaurant suitable for all occasions, whether with friends, acquaintances or clan; ).

In Overall, I didnot like this experience at all. We booked a table for dinner (in their website) and when we entered (even before time), they said, kitchen is closed and we cannot serve you! Then we said, we booked and we got the confirmation from the restaurant. Bla bla....Then another guy came and they accepted us with reluctant. As soon as we sat down, they came to us and somehow on our head that we should order right away (there was no Menü for food!). I didnot like the attitude of people working there. They were not polite and somehow just wanted to serve the people to finish their shift as soon as possible. Food was expensive and I ordered a steak (I think it was the most expensive food they had) and well done, they brought it completely red and I had to return it again. The food design was beautiful but I didnot like the experience in this expensive restaurant due to bad and unfriendly environment that turned our evening to a stressful one!

The correctness of the staff is really great, the local is super easy to reach! The convenient transport connections make a visit feasible. This restaurant has the potential to become my new regular restaurant. The taste is everything. The portions are an appealing and filling size.

Classy place, great food

Service nice, food ok but my overall feeling is that this restaurant is overpriced. We ordered the beef carpaccio and soup to start. Whilst both were nice the price was quite steep, 15 and 12 euros respectively. For main, I had a filet steak, €34, whilst the steak was nice, it was just too expensive the quality received, presentation etc. The lady serving, was a bit of hero and made the experience very pleasant. Wine was nice too.

Excellent Service, delicious dinner, dessert. The owner approach to our table to check on how was everything which was a nice touch of him. Jens our server had an outstanding service.

This restaurant is okay. I will still go back. The food is great as well as the place.

Nothing special about it. Prices higher than average, service lower than average. Meat was not good. Better choose another place! İ wouldnt go there again.

Great food and service!

The food here is fantastic. I had the turbo fish and it was prepared in a sauce that was scrumptious.

Been coming here year after year, have had most things on menu and you really can’t go wrong. Right in old town. Book a reservation as it isn’t that big.

Best restaurant in Nürnberg. I eat here every IWA show. Truffle pasta appetizer and the whole sole filets. Out of this world good. Just when you think it can’t get better order the Crepes And have them flambé at the table. Don’t forget the scoop of Vanilla ice cream.

The restaurant is not cheap, but worth every penny! Extremely tasty food, well served, from those places that makes you want to come back and taste the whole menu. Super recommend it. The atmosphere is nice, good to go in groups. An incredible dining experience!

Great food!

Warm welcome, nice decor and good, hearty food. Refined appetizers and tasty aperitifs. All in all very recommendable. Reservation is recommended. Dessert should be excellent, but the guests come for miles.

We were advised by friends to 4 resturants Nuremberg on our stay. All were very good but the Opatija was the best with exceĺant cuisine.

Nice and relaxed environment to enjoy a nice and relaxed evening...the food we had was good, if not spectacular. A bit of the beaten track, and possibly a bit more expensive than anticipated....no complaints, would recommend but wouldn’t necessarily rush back....good to go to once, at least.

The location is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service is very kind and helpful, I recommend Hajducki Spieß .. 💜💜 Grill Taller has a small minus because the meat was quite bloody. The salad is delicious! I also like the appetizer .. butter and tuna and olive spread;) Prices a bit above average, but all in all very good! It is commendable that the menu can be found on the internet 👌

My staff and I recently dined at Restaurant Opatija Nuremberg on 12 Nov 2017. The cuisine was excellent; we were also impressed by the warm ambience of both the location of the restaurant and the furnishings. Most notably, was the high professionalism of the staff. Our reservations were for 17:30 hours and were immediately impressed by our server's attention to detail, knowledge of the regional food, wine and desserts. She was able to communicate with us in English, German and Bosnian and her appearance displayed confidence - truly topnotch. I highly recommed Opatija to all who wish for a perfect dining experience.
